How To Help With The Show

 

Don’t just visit Kings Bromley Show – be part of it

Helping the Show is rewarding – there’s a great feeling of achievement and it’s fun – so be part of our community

No matter how small the contribution, you can be sure it will be appreciated

There are so many ways to join in

It is good fun and gives a real feeling of satisfaction to help in the community but not everyone who helps lives in Kings Bromley, and volunteers come in all ages, shapes and sizes.  Not all are young and fit but if you can watch over exhibits or hand out programmes, you can still be useful. If you would like to be part of this, email the Show Co-ordinator and we will get in touch by phone or email, as you prefer.

As you can see below – there are many jobs of many sizes, for many people, so if you would like to help in any way – here’s how

Would you like to offer your help to ………………

Get involved with the organization if the Show  – there are many and varied planning and administrative roles to be filled all year round

 

Set up the field a few days before the Show – could you

Offer a trailer or van to move heavy equipment from the store?

Hold one end of a tape measure while the field is measured and marked out?

Use a lump hammer to knock in metal stakes and wooden posts?

Help to erect small marquees (under the instruction of people who’ve done it before)?

Rope off the rings and other areas?

Help to erect temporary fences?

 

The day before the Show – could you

Put up tables and chairs in marquees according to a plan?

Attach direction and information signs to marquees, posts and fences according to a plan?

Fill fire buckets with water and place them outside each marquee?

Line and put rubbish bins in place?

 

On the day of the Show – could you

Help to unload straw bales from a farm trailer and place them for seating around the rings?

Spend an hour on a rota looking after exhibits in the competitive marquee?

Spend an hour on a rota assisting at the gates with visitor entry?

Remove and replace full rubbish bags from the bins?

 

On the evening of the Show – could you

Help to load straw bales back onto a farm trailer?

Remove metal stakes and wooden posts from the field?

Remove signs?

Stack tables and chairs?

Empty and return fire buckets to the store?

Empty and remove litter bins and carry them to the store?

 

On the day after the Show – could you

Offer a van or trailer to move heavy equipment back to the store?

Help to take down party tents and store them (under the instruction of people who’ve done it before)?

Carry stakes and wooden posts to the store?

Pick up litter?

Coil rope onto drums?
