Last year saw the 100th anniversary of the Kings Bromley Horticultural Society and the volunteer Show Committee once again provided the village with a varied and vibrant event for all to enjoy. Our village Show proved to be as popular as ever and, for the first time in it’s long history, the Show featured a live music stage showcasing local talent.
It is this willingness to change with the times that helps keep the Show relevant and thriving. The music stage proved so popular we are extending the performance time into the late afternoon.
However, traditional aspects still have a role to play – none more so than the Competitive Marquee, the biggest tent on the field standing at the heart of our Show This is where all villagers really do play a major part as everything on display has been individually produced.
It’s all about taking part, simply having-a-go, just for the sheer fun of it. This booklet details all the classes you can enter. I’m certain there will be something that appeals and maybe you could encourage someone in your family to enter. Better still, why not make this a family event embracing all age groups – there’s something for everyone – even the very young. It costs very little to enter and for our younger competitors it’s FREE.
Entrants don’t have to live in the village, the Show is also for the wider community so, no excuses for friends and family who live further away not to join in. Neither do you need to be a member of the Horticultural Society although money raised through membership fees is hugely appreciated. Details of membership can be found on the back cover.
Get baking, making, gardening, painting!
